A press release? I don’t do these often! However, we’ve got an awesome event on Steam this weekend and I wanted to showcase it. TactiCon is hosted by Firesquid and Hooded Horse, and will celebrate dozens of indie strategy and tactical games. I want to thank them for giving me the opportunity to help cover the event!
This event will run from September 22nd-26th, showcasing both released and upcoming titles with a sale as well. There will also be panel talks. It’s an exciting time to be a strategy fan! I plan on covering some games I received from these wonderful guys for the event as well as highlighting my favorites from the sale. In the meantime, enjoy the press release!
ONLINE EVENT TACTICON ANNOUNCED BY INDIE PUBLISHERS FIRESQUID AND HOODED HORSE TO CELEBRATE STRATEGY AND TACTICS GAMES
The new online event TactiCon will be hosted this fall by Firesquid and Hooded Horse from September 22nd to 26th 2022 in collaboration with developers and publishers of all sizes.
Indie strategy and tactics game publishers Firesquid and Hooded Horse are launching TactiCon, an online event celebrating the tactical and strategy genres. The event features both recently released hit games as well as promising upcoming projects, and will be held on Steam through a special event sale page. The event will offer a way for developers and fans to meet, learn, and share with each other.
“It is exciting to organize this event due to the enthusiasm of all the great developers and
publishers we have interacted with! We are all united in the love for these types of games
and want to give them a forum,” said Anders Larsson, President of Firesquid. “If you are a developer we want you to apply to be able to get your game in front of the fans!”
“Strategy and tactics games have long been a core pillar of PC gaming, and with the growth of indie development the innovation in these genres has never been more exciting,” said Tim Bender, CEO of Hooded Horse. “With TactiCon, we hope to offer a forum for developers of all sizes to showcase their games and interact with fans.”
Both established strategy game giants such as Paradox and Amplitude as well as a host of

Developers were also invited to submit talks, panels, interviews, and let’s plays to address
specific topics of the genre they are working on. TactiCon offers a unique opportunity for
strategy lovers to get to know the developers of the games they adore playing.

TactiCon is an event that will feature a carefully curated list of exciting upcoming and
recently released or updated strategy and tactics games across a number of different
subgenres (grand strategy, 4X, RTS, turn-based tactics, and similar). It will feature a series of unique talks, panels, interviews, and let’s plays given by experts from the genre in addition to showcasing the games themselves in a dedicated sale. TactiCon is open to games or DLC released during 2021 and 2022, as well as early access titles or upcoming games with demos. The event will be covered by streamers and hosted as a weekend sale on Steam.
