Dead Space- Not So Dead Anymore

Dead Space, a game series whose last sequel release in 2013, is being revived by EA. Motive, who worked on Star Wars: Battlefront II, is now working on a new Dead Space game for Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts considers a “full-fledged remake” of Dead Space instead of a fourth installment in the series, as reported by Gamebeat.

Dead Space is a horror game similar to Resident Evil 4, often called its “spiritual ancestor.” Visceral Games developed it, a studio owned by EA. The game has two sequels, and it is quite well focused on the horror part of the game.

Dead Space 3 was released in 2013 by Visceral Games. Unfortunately, despite generally favorable reviews and great sales, the game failed to meet the standard to please EA for a sequel until now. Sadly, Visceral Games was assigned to work on Battlefield: Hardline before allocating it to a scrapped Star Wars game, which took away the chances of a sequel of Dead Space. Later, in 2017, EA shut down the studio.

We had been getting some hints of a new EA game for some time. The biggest hint was the change in the Dead Space YouTube channel. After 8 years, EA changed the logo for the YouTube channel to a close-up shot of the helmet of the protagonist of Dead Space, Isaac Clarke. This change was noticed by Twitter user Jack. This is the first update to the Dead Space Youtube channel after the Dead Space 3’s Awakened DLC trailer.

Back in June, Gematsu claimed that EA would reveal a Dead Space resurrection at its July 22 event. Motive is drawing inspiration from Capcom’s latest Resident Evil remakes for its Dead Space game. Expectations are that the new Dead Space to employ the original game as a strong basis, similar to Resident Evil 2 Remake. It should, however, have modern graphics. It will also most likely include new gameplay features influenced by previous installments in the franchise.

PESS 2022 GOING FREE-TO-PLAY

The news comes from a VGC podcast, in which editor Andy Robinson mentioned that Konami is “really changing it up” this year with its title, PES 2022. Konami is making PES 2022, its new next-gen title, free-to-play. This is a major change in the sports gaming industry, ending being a smart one. FIFA has been the top dog for years. PES, by going free-to-play, may attract a new audience that is major from its previous ones and may rise as the underdog. Currently, there are no concrete details about the release date of PES 2022. However, we can assume it may release in late August or early 2022. We say this since PES is usually released before EA Sports’ yearly FIFA game. Also, PES 2018 was released on September 15, 2017, PES 2019 was released on August 30, 2018, and PES 2020 was released on September 10, 2019.

GTA VI

Grand Theft Auto 6 is a game awaited by everyone. It has been long without even a hint of it. And with Rockstar remaking Grand Theft Auto 5 for newer-gen consoles, there is no news about it. There are no details about the release date, setting, or even the official title, but recent allegations from credible insiders point to one thing, which says that GTA VI won’t be out until 2023. This rumor was caught from a video of Tom Henderson, in which he claimed that the game is still early in development. It can be said that Rockstar Games appears to be drawing heavily on the success of GTA Online and adopting many of its elements to GTA VI. The game will supposedly include a growing map in a contemporary Vice City once it launches, which is expected to be no earlier than 2024.

These claims were also backed by Bloomberg writer Jason Schreier, who claims everything in the video corresponds to information from his own sources. When it comes to the release date, it wouldn’t be unexpected if Rockstar decides to hold off until 2024-2025 to polish the game.

Absurd Ventures in Games- Dan Houser’s New Company

Dan Houser, a co-founder of Rockstar Games and a writer for Grand Theft Auto, appears to have established a new video game firm. This was found out by the official listing of the company, spotted by Rockstar Mag, named Absurd Venture in Games. It was founded on June 23rd, with a headquarters in Cheshire, United Kingdom. In February, it was also chartered in Delaware under the same name. In addition to being the company’s corporate director, Houser is identified as its producer and creative director.

Houser is well recognized for his work on the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption video games by Rockstar Games, with Read Dead Redemption 2 being a huge success.
