In Tales From the Loop – The Board Game, you and your friends play cooperatively to investigate the mysteries originating from the Loop, a huge underground science facility with strange effects on the suburban landscapes around it.

The upcoming board game is based on the works of the internationally acclaimed visual storyteller Simon Stålenhag. The narrative art books Tales From the Loop and Things From the Flood, published by Free League, stunned the world with a vision of an alternate Scandinavia in the 1980s and ‘90s, where technology invaded tranquil landscapes to form an entirely new universe of the eerie and the nostalgic.

In 2017, Free League published the tabletop roleplaying game Tales From the Loop, which was a smash hit and went on to win five Gold ENNIE Awards, including Best Game and Product of the Year. The tv series adaptation of Tales From the Loop has been launched on Amazon Prime Video. Now the time has come to return to The Loop in the upcoming board game.

Release Date: March 22

The new edition of The One Ring roleplaying game, set in the world of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien and designed by Francesco Nepitello, became the most successful tabletop RPG core game ever on Kickstarter when it ended March 4th, 2021, raising över $2 million.

In the world of THE ONE RING, the year is 2965 of the Third Age and the players create a Company of heroes seeking adventure in the Lone-lands of Eriador. It is a desolate country, yet it sees the presence of many adventurous folks – Hobbits, Dwarves, Elves, and Men. It is here that the One Ring lies, a seed of the past that will one day lead the world to open war against the returning Shadow. The Enemy is moving, and smoke issues once more from Mount Doom, in the land of Mordor…

Heed the warnings spoken by the wardens of the forest – do not disturb the ruins of old, for an ancient evil stirs in its sleep. The horrors of Davokar are about to awaken…The dark and mysterious world of Symbaroum welcomes new adventurers with Ruins of Symbaroum, the 5E adaptation of the praised fantasy game.

At the heart of the dark fantasy RPG Symbaroum lies the forest of Davokar that calls out to be explored, for the trees are covering the remnants of an empire which fell into ruin long ago. But the road into its depths is fraught with danger. Explore the vast forests in the hunt for treasures, lost wisdom, and fame. Seek out the barbarian clans to trade or plunder. Establish your base of power among princes, guilds, or rebellious refugees in the capital. Survive encounters with trolls, dark-minded beasts, and undead warlords.

The World Ends. Again. In Style. Get ready for the nano-infested doomsday RPG CY_BORG, where cybernetic misfits and punks are raging against a relentless corporate hell. Rules-light, rage-heavy. A fever-dream of tech, punk, and fury. The cyberpunk spinoff game CY_BORG, based on and compatible with multi-award-winning apocalyptic heavy metal RPG MÖRK BORG, by Stockholm Kartell, is launching in 2022.

CY_BORG is about rage against climate collapse, out-of-control consumerism, the commodification of personal data, late-stage capitalism, transhumanism, and senseless violence.  Stay jacked in. Stay synced. Stay updated.

Release Date: TBA

You are a curious explorer that longs for the strange, peculiar, and marvelous. You are braving places too far for maps and too old for records. Your expeditions touch the bizarre, wondrous, and horrific. You search for riches, but also Arcana, mysterious devices with unnatural powers.

The remastered version of the acclaimed weird-fantasy tabletop roleplaying game Into the Odd revisits Industrial Bastionland, giving the original game a lavish hardback, full-color restoration with expanded content. The game is written by Chris McDowall (Electric Bastionland) with art and graphic design by Johan Nohr (MÖRK BORG). A rules-light, flavour-heavy roleplaying game of industrial horror and cosmic strangeness awaits.

Heart of Darkness is an upcoming new cinematic scenario for the multiple award-winning ALIEN roleplaying game. The expansion offers a stand-alone adventure but also serves as a conclusion to the Draconis Strain Saga begun in the cinematic scenario Chariot of the Gods and continued in Destroyer of Worlds, all written by Andrew E.C Gaska. The expansion is designed for 3–5 players plus the Game Mother and is a spiraling descent into soul-crushing madness.

Leave the Mythic North and set sail for mist-shrouded isles. Mythic Britain & Ireland provides a brand-new setting for the ENNIE-winning RPG Vaesen – Nordic Horror Roleplaying. Explore the fog-shrouded streets of London, discover the secrets of Rose House and the British Society. Discover the islands and walk the moors in search of long-lost tales and ancient remnants. The new setting invites you to experience Gothic horror mysteries in the lands of Mary Shelley, Arthur Conan Doyle, and Bram Stoker. Written by industry legend and ENNIE-winner Graeme Davis (The Enemy Within) and beautifully illustrated by ENNIE-winning artist Johan Egerkrans.

Also on the horizon is Vaesen: Seasons of Mystery, a book filled with four new spine-tingling mysteries spanning four seasons across The Mythic North: Dance of Death, Fireheart, The Devil on the Moor, and A Winter’s Tale.

Urban Operations is the first expansion for the new retro-apocalyptic edition of the RPG classic Twilight: 2000. It is a modular expansion focused on cities loosely based on the classic module Free City of Krakow – but designed to be used in any city environment. Krakow is described in it as one example town, another being Karlsborg in Sweden.

The expansion will include guidelines for playing in cities, new factions, new scenario sites, and introducing several plots to create longer story arcs. It will be a boxed set with a scenario book, city maps, scenario site maps, modular battle maps for urban environments, and new encounter cards for urban environments.

Want to fight horrid monsters and demons? Then explore Book of Beasts and The Bloodmarch, two upcoming expansions for the award-winning fantasy RPG Forbidden Lands.

Forbidden Lands: Book of Beasts is a bestiary you can play, beautifully illustrated and filled to the brim with murderous monsters and lethal encounters. Each beast comes ready to play with tailored random encounters, presenting the Gamemaster with a handy set of mini-adventures to go.

Forbidden Lands: The Bloodmarch is a campaign book expanding the game world and including a full campaign – Legacy of Horn. The Bloodmarch is the name given to the volcanic region west of Ravenland, accessible as the Shadowgate Pass is again opened. This ancient land of battle-ready horse riders and secretive dwarves is rapidly changing due to the demonic vegetation spreading across the land.

Doom and misery are upon us, for the blasphemous expansion MÖRK BORG Cult: Heretic, a zine of community-made misadventure and malice for use with MÖRK BORG RPG or other rules-light dark fantasy games will launch this year. This godless tome includes creatures, classes, optional rules, and generators as well as four deadly adventures; Nurse the Rot, Graves Left Wanting, Sepulchre of the Swamp Witch, and Bloat.

The multiple award-winning MÖRK BORG RPG is designed by Pelle Nilsson (Ockult Örtmästare Games) and Johan Nohr (Stockholm Kartell) and published by Free League Publishing under the sub-label Free League Workshop.
