As we move ahead in terms of games, they are evolving in terms of story, graphics, and whatnot. But the new titles require a good gaming rig and can stress your pc out if do not meet up to the requirements. So, naturally, you would turn to the older games and would like some good fps games, then keep reading as I would be telling you about 5 Low-End FPS games for your pc. I will be using this rig as an example-

i3 3rd gen

4GB ram

Intel HD 4000

Now, these games are in random order and not ranked. These games are quite low-spec and can run on most iGPU’s and old CPUs such as an old i3, Intel HD 4000, and 4GB ram on the lowest settings. I recommend that if you have an iGPU, use dual-channel ram as they increase the performance in case of weak integrated graphics. These are the FPS (First-Person Shooting) games in random order. Here we go!

Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3 is a 2012 first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the third main installment in the Far Cry series. The game takes place on the fictional Rook Islands, a tropical archipelago that can be freely explored by players.

Far cry 3 is a game innovative with its hunting and crafting systems with a story of Jason Brody, on a vacation with his brother, and his friends. While skydiving over Rook Island, you go off course and the next thing you know, you wake up in a cage with your brother, being lectured by one of the main bad guys named Vaas. I believe Vaas was the first time a video game had a character worthy of an Oscar due to his completely realistic insanity because of superb voice acting and the way his lines would make an impact on your mind and stick in it. Vaas was so incredibly evil yet charismatic in a psychotic way.

9 things you probably didn't know about Far Cry 3

While the system requirements recommend Nvidia 8800 which is more powerful than old iGPU’s, I was able to run this game on i3, Intel HD 4000, and 2 gigs of ram on lowest with around 25-30fps with a little lag spike. But with the same rig and 4GB ram, you should be able to run it on the lowest settings with stable fps. Use dual channel ram (2x2GB) for best results.

Call of Duty Series (Upto Modern Warfare)

Call of Duty is a series that has been most mentioned in the FPS genre. While the newer Call of Duty titles are quite heavy for our Intel HD Graphics, the older ones are quite generous. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare series follows a CIA officer and British SAS forces as they team up with rebels from the fictional country of Urzikstan, combating together against Russian forces who have invaded the country. The older Call of Duty titles such as Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2,3, and Call of Duty World at War is based on the events of World War II. The Modern Warfare series and World at War can run on low settings on the rig and the older titles can run at the highest settings also giving you a smooth experience.

Half-Life is a series launched by Valve. Half-Life 1 and Half-life 2 released in 1998 and 2004 respectively are very well praised. You would have already guessed that Half-Life 1 would have no issues running on the rig and Half-Life 2 too would give a smooth experience on Medium-High Settings. In the first part, players control Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist at the Black Mesa Research Facility, where an experiment accidentally causes a dimensional rift and triggers an alien invasion. Half-Life 2 returns the player to the role of Gordon Freeman. Set twenty years after the original game, Earth has been occupied by the Combine, a transdimensional race that exploited the events of the first game to invade. The G-Man inserts Freeman into City 17 in Eastern Europe to combat the Combine occupation. The sequels to Half-Life 2 such as Episodes 1 and 2 are also capable of giving you a smooth experience on the rig.

Battlefield Series till Battlefield 3

Battlefield is a series of first-person shooter video games that started on Microsoft Windows and OS X with Battlefield 1942, which was released in 2002. The series is developed by Swedish company EA DICE and is published by American company Electronic Arts. Battlefield has been a successful competitor to Call of Duty. Also being graphically beautiful, the storyline is also good. The older titles till Battlefield 3 can run on this rig. Battlefield Bad Company, Bad Company 2 will give a smooth experience although Battlefield 3 can sometimes be intensive. That can be fixed by lowering the resolution and the settings. Bad Company centered around an army battalion of cannon fodders named “Bad Company,” consisted of Private Preston Marlowe, Terrence Sweetwater, George Gordon, and Sergeant Samuel D. Redford, fighting off the fictional First Russo-American War. More from the Bad Company storyline, the 2010’s Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was set in 1944, several years before the events of the first title. It still centered around Private Preston Marlowe, the first game’s main protagonist, and Sweetwater, Haggard, and Sergeant Redford.

Medal of Honor 2010

Medal of Honor is a first-person shooter video game developed by Danger Close Games and EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the thirteenth installment in the Medal of Honor series and a reboot of the series. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on October 12, 2010. Medal of Honor is a great title, a realistic and epic take on the war in Afghanistan. Being just 5 hours for an incredible experience, the title will push you on a breathtaking journey in the most dangerous valleys of Afghanistan. The game engine, story, graphics, and sound are so realistic. It can run well on the rig. The sequel of this title, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, can also run but is too heavy for this rig. So, I recommend this title over the sequel.
