Horizon Forbidden West Might get pushed

Many games have been delayed due to the pandemic debacle, and now the long-awaited video game exclusives coming for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Horizon Forbidden West, have been added to the list. It was expected to be released this year. However, according to a fresh rumor, a postponement announcement is on the way. According to a writer, there’s a chance this game will be delayed till 2022. But, of course, nothing is official currently, so this is only a rumor.

According to Gamesbeat journalist Jeff Grub, he has heard Horizon Forbidden West might be delayed until 2022 during the Giant Bomb broadcast. However, it is not concrete information. According to reports, the Guerrilla Games and Sony developers are unsure if they will produce the game on time in 2021. Although the epidemic swept the world and produced many problems for game developers, it might be the reason for a big influence in pushing this game beyond 2022.

According to the journalist, the game’s announcement may be postponed until the upcoming State of Play. This is rumored to be arriving in September.

Dead Space Remake Will Be Directed by Former Ubisoft Game Director

We all know about the Dead Space remake made by EA Motive, the studio that gave us Star Wars: Squadrons. The person who would be directing it is Ashraf Ismail over at EA Motive. Ashraf Ismail has previously worked at Ubisoft. He had been helping in a few of the Assassin’s Creed games for a decade, with most recently stepping to the Director Role for Assassin’s Creed Vallhalla but later was fired over misconduct. After posting an update on his LinkedIn page, it was revealed that Ashraf would be the game director. We are eager to see what approach he will take with Dead Space.

PUBG Devs Wants to go F2P

PUBG, or PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, is said to be turning free-to-play. PUBG continues to attract many players each month, but competition from games like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Warzone, and other free-to-play battle royale shooters has reduced the game’s user base over time. An insider knew as PlayerIGN on Twitter has claimed that the game is looking to go free-to-play. According to the rumor, the choice would be made after a free week of playtime. As a result, going free-to-play might be a good option for coming back in the game stronger than ever with a larger player base.

EVGA RTX 3090 is being bricked

According to reports, New World users were experiencing catastrophic hardware failures while playing the beta, leading to bricking. The EVGA RTX 3090 was being bricked by Amazon’s new MMO game, New World. The EVGA RTX 3090 is perhaps the most powerful card in the market, and with the GPU shortage, the last thing you need is your GPU being bricked.

The issue was first thought to be with the frame rate of the game. Despite Amazon’s denial that their game was destroying graphics cards, the publisher published a patch that restricted the frame rate of New World. Turns out, the problem had nothing to do with the frame rate of the game. According to a fresh report from Igor’sLAB, the problem has been narrowed down to EVGA’s fan controller.

Igor’sLAB investigated the cause of the problem by running New World on an EVGA RTX 3090 with numerous hardware monitoring tools. It came out that the GPU fan was going wild from a stable and cool 1600 RPM to rampaging 200,000 RPM. This much RPM can burn the fan itself, which would lead to the GPU running without any cooling. If the player fails to realize that the fan has died and continues to play, the graphics card may fail catastrophically.

This issue was also re-created in Anno 1800, again leading to the bricking. EVGA has promised to assist players with bricked RTX 3090s by replacing them for free. Hopefully, EVGA will also issue an update to their fan controller, preventing the need for future RTX 3090s from being replaced.
