Bite Sized Reviews: Thyria

Thyria offers more customization and freedom to experiment with its mechanics than most dungeon crawlers, although I found it confusing at times. Still, this is a gorgeous strategy game with a fantastic setting!

I’ll be honest. When I sat down to write up my thoughts on this game, I was stumped on what to talk about. That doesn’t happen often for me. There are times when I get stuck on a video game, and then I struggle with converting my thoughts into words. For example, if I’m terrible […]

Gamedev Interview: David Lloyd (Flight of Nova)

Our first interview of the year, and it's a banger. David Lloyd has been working on his ambitious (and awesome) space sim Flight of Nova for a couple of years now. Today, I got to sit down with him for a quick chat. Enjoy!

One of my goals for 2024 is to expand developer interviews. Last year saw a major increase in demand, and I want to help support game developers as much as I can. While I work on the next couple of reviews, I sat down with David Lloyd, creator of Flight of Nova. Flight of Nova […]

I have several interviews coming! It’s been a productive couple of weeks while I make my way back from illness, so it built up quite the backlog of content. Today’s interview is with Ivan Devyatko, screenwriter at Magnum Scriptum, and co-developer of Quasimorph. It launched earlier in October in Early Access, and you can buy […]

Gamedev Interview: Clockwork Pile

In today's article, I interview Salwomir, developer at Clockwork Pile. Their game Shardpunk: Verminfall launched in April, and they happily sat down with me for a quick interview. Hope you enjoy!

I’m back with a new interview! While I’m working on my next Indie Corner episode, I received the chance to interview Salwomir, developer of recent hardcore tactics RPG Shardpunk: Verminfall! They very kindly offered me the opportunity to review the game as well, so you will be reading that in the coming weeks. Shardpunk: Verminfall […]

GOTY 2022: My Honorable Mentions

Welcome to Episode 4 of my GOTY series! I'm close to announcing my Top 10 games of 2022, but before that, here are some games that barely missed the cut.

As I write today’s episode, it looks like Silent Hill outside my window. Nevertheless, it’s a great atmosphere to discuss some awesome games! I’m making significant progress with my annual GOTY series. I’m nearly ready to announce my Top 10, but I’ve got my honorable mentions before we get to that. These are games that […]

GOTY 2022: Hidden Gems

We're on Episode 3 of my annual GOTY series! Today, I'll be covering five of my favourite games that've gone under the radar. They may be flawed, or overlooked, or both, but I've had fun with these, and hopefully you'll have fun too!

I hope everyone is keeping well! It’s the coldest morning of the year so far, and I’m hiding in my bedroom with a jumper and thermal socks to keep warm. We’re onto the hidden gem segment of this year’s GOTY event. This is the episode where I recommend some of the…more quirky games released this […]

Indie Corner Episode 9: Where Are They Now?

It’s me again with another indie games episode! It’ll get to the stage where I’ll just name the articles by funky titles rather than episodes, but that’s for another time. Today, I want to revisit a couple of games I’ve previously covered in a ‘Where are they now?’ thing. One of the reasons why I […]

Gamedev Interview: Silverforge

The game dev interviews have been coming thick and fast lately, which is a good thing! We need more attention to these wonderful smaller studios because that is where a lot of recent gems have been uncovered. I return today bringing another interview, this time with a fascinating Hungarian game dev team in Silverforge, indie […]
